We love Wyoming . On July 10, 1890, the Cowboy State entered the Union, and with it a million travelers' dreams were made. Including this one's. Standing on Mirror Lake Highway, under the massive "Forever West" sign, puts it all in perspective: travel international tickets This is a place where you can roam free. And you'll do a lot of roaming here. With just over 500,000 people in a state roughly the size of the United travel international tickets Kingdom Wyoming is the least populous of all the states.
Your first stop in this great expanse of the American Wild West is Cody, WY. Granted, this is a tourist hub, as the western-wear-and-trinket shops along Sheridan Avenue attest. But you sort of expect that: The town's namesake, after all, was the late-great western showman Buffalo Bill Cody, who helped found this rugged stretch of northern Wyoming in 1895. See his apparition at the Buffalo Bill Historical Center , a complex of 5 museums that tells the story of the American west through western art, firearms exhibits and stories of the Plains Indians.
The world of Native American culture comes to life every summer, just beyond the museum's doors. For more than 30 years, the Plains Indian Museum Powwow has showcased dancers and drum groups from Northern Plains travel international tickets tribes. Members of Native American tribes come from neighboring states, travel international tickets such as Idaho and Nevada, and in addition to performing, they sell Indian jewelry, bead and quillwork, clothing and more. Try the fry bread, hand-made by Arizona travel international tickets native Mary Sounding Sides. She's been making fry bread at the powwow for the past 10 decades. What's her cooking secret? "No secret," she says, "just something I learned as a girl." Make sure you stay for the grand finale: Flanked by American and Native American flags, dancers march away; they may wave to you and invite you to join the march as well.
More western lore comes to life at the town's landmark, Hotel Irma. Buffalo travel international tickets Bill built this hotel in 1902, and named it after his daughter. The afternoon I swung by, I pulled a seat up to the cherry-wood bar that was given to Buffalo Bill by Queen Victoria complete with an antique cash register from the early 1900s. You never know who you'll travel international tickets meet as you sip a beer or lemonade; my bar buddy for the afternoon was a local Native American man named Oliver who told me about an upcoming powwow at nearby Wind River Reservation.
Stay 'till the evening. It's a little travel international tickets cheesy, but you'll want to stay for Hotel Irma's free gunfight show. Be patient with the sound system this is live theater, folks, and sometimes the mics cut in and out. But you'll get the basic gist, especially once you see "Wyatt Earp" shoot up outlaw cowboys Billy Clayton, and Tom and Frank McLaury.

We regularly draw on the expertise of intellectuals and do not hesitate to invite them to work with

IT is always inspiring and a great honour to be invited to an august forum of such a prestigious and famous institution of higher learning and research. I sincerely acknowledge the invitation to Oxford University and the Centre for African Studies, one of the highest centres of learning in the world. For centuries, some of the world s greatest minds have walked sting broken music tour the cobbled streets of Oxford and graced its platforms and I am humbled to have been chosen to be in your company today.
This is my first international sting broken music tour engagement sting broken music tour after the disputed elections in Zimbabwe and to do so at this world-renowned centre of learning is both an honour and a privilege. That you have invited me here represents a re-affirmation of the importance of our cause and the seriousness with which it is regarded by the academic world, especially the Centre for African Studies which has over the years provided a forum for discussion and debate on the critical issues affecting our continent, a continent toward which some of us have invested so much time, effort and love to ensure that it provides a safe and happy environment for its inhabitants.
Politics has always stood to benefit from intellectual capital. Developmental and democratic processes in Zimbabwe and Africa sting broken music tour generally can benefit more from greater input by intellectuals. Research is critical it informs politicians and politics and as the MDC, we place high value on the contributions made by intellectuals sting broken music tour even as we appreciate sting broken music tour that politics is an arena for participation by everyone.
We regularly draw on the expertise of intellectuals and do not hesitate to invite them to work with us and we have been privileged to have some joining our ranks over the years. We take your work seriously sting broken music tour and encourage you to do more research on Zimbabwe including on issues that form the core of today s discussion. Left to ourselves and our egos, we politicians can easily become our own worst enemies and so we need intellectuals to play their critical role, pointing to our errors and checking our excesses. It is for this reason that we in the MDC fought hard to ensure the inclusion of the right to academic freedom in Zimbabwe s new Constitution.
I have been asked to talk about the extractive industry, in particular, the diamond industry in Zimbabwe and its impact on the politics obtaining in the country. This topic is most appropriate and poignant, given the background of the most recent elections in Zimbabwe, whose process and outcome have been marked by serious controversy leaving serious credibility and legitimacy sting broken music tour questions.
While it is tempting, the purpose of the paper is not to discuss the process and outcome of those elections, which is a matter for another forum. The paper will however, make reference to the elections to the extent that it is necessary and unavoidable sting broken music tour in discussing the interplay between the diamond industry and politics in Zimbabwe which forms the core of this paper.
While Zimbabwe could have learned sting broken music tour from previous experience in other African countries, such as Sierra Leone and the DRC, the discovery of diamonds has indeed followed the all-too-familiar script sting broken music tour and turned out to be a curse rather than a blessing for the country. There were serious human rights abuses that took place following the discovery of the precious stones as reported and authenticated by civil society organisations and the initial disbarment of Zimbabwean diamonds from the Kimberly Process until not so long ago, when they received certification.
The military occupation of the diamond fields, the beatings sting broken music tour and killings of those who came for the Diamond Rush , the forced displacement of the local people in Marange in Manicaland province and the problems they continue to face following their displacement remains a cause for concern. The poverty endemic in this area is not consistent with the value of the diamonds sting broken music tour extracted from their land. It is displeasing how a people can continue to wallow in poverty in the midst of a treasure benefitting the well-heeled and the well-connected in government.
The mining industry has replaced the once-thriving agricultural sector as the biggest export and foreign currency earner for the country. The sector has seen a lot of companies entering the fray, particularly in diamond mining. The companies sting broken music tour include: River Ranch, Murowa Diamonds, Mbada Diamonds, Anjin, Marange Resources and Diamond Mining Company (DMC). sting broken music tour Government, through the state-owned company, ZMDC entered into joint venture agreements with a 50/50 shareholding in the following companies: Mbada, Anjin and DMC. Marange Resources is owned 100% by ZMDC.
The diamond mining sector was generally sting broken music tour small until the huge discovery of alluvial deposits in Marange in 2006. It is estimated that the country now has the capacity to supply 25% of the global diamond market.
As a party, the MDC s aims to promote a social democratic developmental state , and sees the mining industry as a critical sector through which to promote both development and strengthen sting broken music tour democratisation in the country. Unfortunately, the experience so far under Zanu PF in control of natural resources and the mining sector is that the diamond industry has neither helped in promoting development or democratisation in the country.
Instead, it has increased the gap between the minority sting broken music tour that are extremely rich and the majority who remain sting broken music tour poor while at the same time fuelling the undermining of democratic processes. I will endeavour to demonstrate this in more detail below by showing the major challenges affecting the diamond mining industry and how they have impacted on the politics in the country.
The secrecy and lack of transparency in the diamond mining industry has resulted in serious leakages and failure to remit satisfactory revenues to the State. While the Minister of Finance expected $600 million from the proceeds sting broken music tour of diamond exports in 2012, the State only received about $41 million. This is against reported sales of diamonds running into billions of dollars every year. According to international NGO Global sting broken music tour Witness, about $2bn in diamond revenues have been unaccounted for since 2008.
In 2012, our Minister of Finance was forced to revise his $4 billion National Budget to $3,4 billion after the $600 million expected from diamond sting broken music tour sales did not materialise. Our own Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Mines and Energy sting broken music tour presented a report in Parliament in June 2013 which states the following:
The Committee observed with concern that from the time that the country was allowed to trade its diamonds on the world market, government has not realized any meaningful contributions sting broken music tour from the sector. sting broken music tour This is despite the fact that production levels and the revenue generated from exports has been on the increase. There are serious discrepancies between what government receives from the sector and what the diamond mining companies claim to have remitted to Treasury .
The parliamentary committee s report said powerful officials, politicians and police and army commanders repeatedly tried to thwart the probe into diamond dealings. The chair of the 22-member panel, Edward sting broken music tour Chindori-Chininga, a former Mugabe Mines minister, died in a car crash just days after he signed off the report sting broken music tour in June. Police said Chindori-Chininga s death was accidental and that his car had veered off the highway and slammed into trees. However, observers found the circumstances sting broken music tour of his demise suspicious.
Certainly, car wrecks or mysterious accidents are not uncommon in our part of the world and as a local press report indicated recently, they have taken the lives of 12 senior politicians, all of whom were believed to have bucked official policy, in the past two decades. The parliamentary committee s report said several officials lied while giving evidence under subpoena and that diamond earnings are not only shielded from scrutiny but are not channelled into the state coffers.
The one notable discrepancy is that while Treasury received $41 million only in 2012, one of the diamond mining companies which responded to the Parliamentary sting broken music tour Committee (Mbada) stated that it had remitted $117 million to government as dividends for its shareholding. The difference between $117 million supposedly received from Mbada and the $41 million actually received by treasury remains unaccounted for. This is even before one considers remittances sting broken music tour in dividends from other diamond mining companies sting broken music tour in which the state is a shareholder, let alone the royalty fees and other payments sting broken music tour due to the state.
The lack of transparency means that nobody sting broken music tour appears to know exactly how much the country has earned from diamonds and whether the reported figures are accurate. It is clear that there is serious under-reporting of the proceeds from diamond mining and trade. sting broken music tour The effect of the low remittances to government sting broken music tour simply means the State has been thin on resources and it has not been able to finance the developmental projects that had been budgeted for. With the State receiving little revenues than expected, its developmental role has been seriously hamstrung.
It is hoped that the lifting of restrictive measures on ZMDC and the use of the Kimberly Process will promote greater transparency. The measures had the effect of giving rent-seekers an opportunity to conduct their dealings in the parallel market, thereby promoting shady deals, leakages, non-accountability and corrupt activities. sting broken music tour They no longer have that excuse sting broken music tour and it is expected that there will be added transparency and therefore accountability in the mining and trade of diamonds. If the State receives what is due to it from the diamond companies, the hope is that the Government sting broken music tour will channel those resources to developmental projects. We had comprehensive plans, as an MDC Government to make diamonds work for the people of Zimbabwe using the proceeds to support infrastructural projects and promoting sting broken music tour social services for local communities.
Diamond mining in our country is riddled with corruption as confir

I know I ve told you guys this before, but I m going to say it again, just in case you are a new reader of Mommys Craft Obsession . I have a major soft spot for things that are personalized. Jewelry, clothing, wellesley inn household items, wellesley inn anything! If you can personalize it, I ll probably get it personalized. For me, personalized jewelry is a must, and the jewelry that I own and treasure the most is- surprise wellesley inn surprise- personalized. When I first learned about Origami Owl I felt my heart skip a beat. What I adore most about Origami Owl is that you will never see another necklace that is identical to yours. Okay well maybe not never, but the chances are pretty slim. To say that I was excited when Leslie Bradley, Independent Designer for Origami Owl was put into contact with me, would be an understatement, to say that I was elated with joy would be more accurate.
Origami Owl was created in 2010 by a 14 year old named Bella. wellesley inn I kid you not, this amazing entrepreneur was only 14 years old when she founded what is now a name that I would venture to say that every woman knows. Bella began Origami Owl in order to save enough money for a car on her 16th birthday and before she knew it, women everywhere were wondering how they could bring Origami Owl to their friends and family. Before long, Origami Owl became a place where women everywhere could begin a career that they would love and have a ton of fun doing! The mission of Origami Owl is simple:
Leslie Bradley, a Independent Designer for Origami Owl asked me to team up with her to help spread the word about how wonderful Origami Owl is! She generously created a necklace for me out of the interests that I mentioned to her and I was so excited to get it! Although I have admired Origami Owl for a long time, I have yet to own a gorgeous piece of my own so I was thrilled wellesley inn to be able to say I now own a necklace from Origami Owl!
When you create wellesley inn your own necklace you get to choose literally everything! The first and major essentials for creating your necklace are to choose your locket size and metal, as well as your chain. I prefer silver jewelry to gold, so Leslie graciously chose the silver wellesley inn locket and chain for me! The locket is magnetic so you can easily open it up and add or remove charms to make your necklace exactly how you want it!
I d like to let you in on a pet peeve of mine. I can t stand when jewelry wellesley inn has magnetic clasps. I m always terrified that my necklace will fall of randomly, and is it just me, or does your hair always get stuck in those darn magnetic clasps? I was pretty stoked to see that the clasp on my new Origami Owl necklace was a lobster clasp and not magnetic.
The charms that Leslie chose for me are unique and represent a part of me that I love and cherish. The A is for both myself and Baby A (but mostly for Baby A). I have the purple crystal as a representation of my grandmother wellesley inn who for the past 11 years has had Alzheimer s. Purple is the color of Alzheimer s awareness and since my family has been dealing with this horrible disease for so long, I want to bring awareness to as many people as I can. The purse is because I am hopelessly and obsessively addicted to bags. The paw print is to represent that I am a dog mom of two! One awesome thing I noticed about the paw print is that it is reversible! I added a tiny picture next to the charm so you could see it s other side which says {heart} My Dog! And I do, I love my doggies!!
The necklace is just gorgeous when it s on and hangs (on me) at the perfect length that no matter what type of neckline I am wearing, you will easily be able to see the charms! I absolutely love my Origami Owl necklace and think this would be the most amazing gift to a family member or close friend! I highly recommend this company and I can honestly say that I am even considering becoming a consultant!
The Giveaway will close late on the evening of March 16th. The winner will be chosen at random through wellesley inn Rafflecopter which uses Random.org. The winner will be announced wellesley inn both on Rafflecopter as well as MCO's Facebook. wellesley inn The winner will have their prize sent to them by Leslie Bradley, Origami Owl Independent Consultant. Must be 18 years and older. Mommys Craft Obsession and Thrifty Nifty Mommy not responsible for the prize shipment. US Only.

This one of the last episodes that did not contain cheap bangkok hotels the words "Kirsten Gum" in the title. For the life of me, I don't get this change, but if it does increase viewership, fine. It's all about marketing and branding these days, and if Kirsten can transform herself into a brand, more power to her and the show. The best thing about this episode is ALASKA, which is the true treasure. Gorgeous, craggy, cheap bangkok hotels incredibly remote, we're lucky to get this view of the place. Most places in the interior, you have to take puddle cheap bangkok hotels jumper type planes, which are an experience in themselves. You have to be brave. First we have a primer on how pan for gold, dispensed by a crusty ole miner named "Peck". Peck has an eerie resemblance to my first husband (you think I'm kidding, but I am not). If it weren't cheap bangkok hotels an invasion of privacy that would incur supreme wrath if it were discovered, I would post their pictures side by side. But I'm wiser than that. Some episodes later, after the rebranding of the series, Kirsten will again pan for gold, but will inexplicably have forgotten anything she ever knew. After trying out panning, it's off to try out suction dredging with a couple of recreational miners. She has a little better luck here, and her total approaches fifty bucks or so. And after spending the afternoon in the cold water of the creek (no tank tops in this episode, boys, so sorry), she's got wet feet and a little more paydirt. We then gear up with state of the art metal detection cheap bangkok hotels equipment, it's off to Moore Creek Mine, where you can dig your gold right out of the ground, after you have detected the presence of metal. This involves not one, but two flights in the aforementioned puddle jumpers. You are not going to drive here. This mining land has been turned and prepared, a la farming cheap bangkok hotels fields. As they say, she quickly learns that all that beeps the detector is not gold. She comes up completely empty when it comes to nuggets. In one of the best scenes of the show, she and two other miners show off their impressive takes of rusty nails, rusty sardine can keys, and the like. Pretty funny. Two days later, Kirsten is still gold nugget free. As they are waiting for the charter puddle jumper to pick them up, the crew gets a chance to try their luck. Almost immediately they find gold, two beautiful nuggets. And do they get to keep them? We shall soon see. One complaint I have had with the earlier shows is that they always 'sell' what they find, with the quite ridiculous statement cheap bangkok hotels that they 'have to pay for the trip'. Come on, Travel Channel. The three hundred or so that those nuggets were worth will not make the slightest dent in what it cost to make this episode. Let the crew keep their finds! At least in the newly branded version of the show, it looks like that silliness has been suspended. This looks like it would be an incredibly fun vacation, as long as you didn't bank on finding enough gold to pay for the trip. I'd love to do it someday, better start saving now!

Orlando has got some smokin values, even at rack rate, but Travelin Joe s vote goes to Falcon s Fire ( falconsfire.com , 407-239-5445, $49-$119). Sure, there are cheaper championship layouts in town, but the combination of a solid Rees Jones design, firm, fast greens, recent renovations to the facilities, a central location and afternoon rates during high season of $69-$89 makes this a must-play.
Flat fairways framed by endless mounds give Falcon s Fire a dated, early 1990s look, but timeless are holes such as the 218-yard, par-3 8th, with its daunting water carry and the 379-yard, par-4 13th, with its bite-off-as-much-as-you-can-chew tee shot and minefield of 15 bunkers left of the fairway.
The best time to visit Orlando for weather password anouk hotel new york is between October through password anouk hotel new york May when it gets cooler (temps in the 70s/80s) and course conditions are at their peak, but you get the best price breaks between the hotter and stickier months of July through September.
password anouk hotel new york You should have three goals with bunker shots: get out, get on the green and get close to the hole, unless shooting away from it would help limit a big number. Also pay attention to the sand s color and feel. A lighter shade and sugary feel means more sand, so you have to swing harder since the club will be slowed down. A darker color and more tightly packed feel means less sand, and you should swing easier since the ball will come out faster.
If you have downloaded the My Pro To Go app ( myprotogo.com ) and want an in-person swing consultation, or just need a tune-up before password anouk hotel new york starting your first round in Orlando, head to GolfTec s locations password anouk hotel new york in Altamonte Springs (407-869-0105) or Millenia (407-370-2755)

Does anyone with two cats have any advice on bringing a new cat into a house with a pre-existing cat? I am thinking of getting a friend for Cash, he is very easy going, male, 8 years old, front declawed, but I am not sure how easy/not-easy the process is, how long it takes, the best way to do so, etc. Any advice? Experiences?

because I was going out the night after I picked up my seal point Siamese at the shelter. I came home and she was pacing inside the room frustrated while the other cats were lined up at the door looking under it. I let her out and she waltzed down the hall, the others dinner cruises new years new york following her curiously. If they got a little too close, she hissed. Eventually they all became friends.

It depends a lot on the personality of the cat, the first time my cat went ballistic and I even had to wash my hands before I could pet her. A couple of generations later I brought two kittens to an 8 year old cat and he hissed at them for a couple of weeks then I came home one day and he was rolling around on the floor with them.
My experience is that opposite sex helps, and I think you're best with a young cat but not a kitten, say about 10-14 months. It takes time and patience though, and you may find that once they get past initial hostilities, they may make friends when you are not there watching them.

I have introduced many, many new cats to my old cats over the years. Gender doesn't matter, nor does clawed/declawed. What matters is just basically telling them "You're here, he's here, no one is going anywhere, so take your time and get used to each other." There most likely will be hissing and growling. No cat has ever died of hissing and growling. They are just basically staking out their space. The new one may hide for a while — as long as three months in the case of one of mine. DO NOT PANIC. Let him hide. He'll come out when he's ready.

regardless of what you think you may control. The laid back guys will simply avoid the alpha dudes if there's a conflict. I wouldn't worry about it. You oughta know by now that cats are, well, cats. You live to serve them. Don't even think about dictating the terms.

I would say that it's been my experience that it works best when they are different genders and both have similar dispositions. Sometimes it helps to bring a younger cat in with an older one, it can be very rejuvenating.

When you come to find how essential the comfort of a well-kept home is to the bodily strength and good conditions, to a sound mind and spirit, and useful days, you will reverence the good housekeeper as I do above artist or poet, beauty or genius.
We've rescued/fostered probably about two dozen cats, primarily from a local feral colony that we're trying to trim down. Most have only stayed for a few weeks until we find them a home, but we have 5 that are permanent residents.
The "brothers" get along pretty well with one another. I'll often find them all asleep in the same room. The "sisters" dinner cruises new years new york are the same way. Many times they will hang out together separate from the boys.

At first, so they could see and smell each other but be apart, with their own food and litter dinner cruises new years new york boxes. Then depending on how things go, if they seem to accept each other, the separation (I've used fireplace screens across doorways) can be removed with supervision so they can mingle. I would keep them locked apart safely if I was out of the house though, to make sure no trouble occurred while I was away. It usually takes just a few days until errthins kewl.
And I suggest you read some of his other stuff about cat behavior and 'catification' of your home (and/or watch some of his Animal Channel shows, 'My Cat from Hell'). a few cats into the house and introduced them. Put a blanket or towel that smells of Cash in the room with the newbie, and try to get the newbie's smell on a towel or blanket dinner cruises new years new york and leave that in Cash's area, then switch them out. Switch places with Cash in the room the newbie is in and the newbie out in the house. This mixes their scents. Play it by ear regarding when to just throw open the doors. And we just added numbers 13 and 14 recently. There will be growling. Some hissing. Possibly a bit of batting and even a roll around or two - but they work it out amongst themselves and get sorted dinner cruises new years new york pretty quickly as a general rule.
three cats tenuously coexisting over portions of a period of 20 years, and I'm afraid it isn't helpful. "Laid back" on the part of all feline members is probably your best bet, because I can assure you that introducing a new (but unsuspected - at the time) psychotic grey tabby into the comfortable world of the reigning queen psychotic grey tabby in my household led straight to pandemonium. Fortunately, you are one big step ahead in this regard...
opposite sex. My experience has been that the older cat will hiss and sulk for a week or so, but soon accepts the newcomer. Cats are social animals. I think that if your current cat is used to having company there should be no problem. However things might get sticky if he is used to being an only cat. My friends had the experience of having their older cat take over a year to accept a newcomer.
Declawing really isn't nice can lead to litterbox troubles, as rough litter can really hurt what's left of their fingers. Separate litter boxes areas might be a good idea, as this is a place of vulnerability. Getting kitty litter that's easier on the paws might be a good idea for declawed cats.
...for the most part. We have our primary cat plus a couple backup cats we rescued a few years ago. All were about 6 years old at the time. Once they stopped trying to kill each other, they reached a détente that would have made Khrushchev proud. Now they're almost friendly.

Update :  In a twist of cruel irony, the Travel Channel s May 13th airing of the Burger Land program celebrating the Bobcat Bite debuted just a few days after the announcement that the world-famous Bobcat Bite as we all know and love it will be forever changed.  An official statement from Bobcat Bite, issued on May 9th, announced the restaurant renowned for its outstanding green chile cheeseburger would shutter its doors in June, 2013.  The press release read: After 12 years, Bonnie and John Eckre will serve their last famous Bobcat Bite burger at the Old Las Vegas Highway location on June 9. They will be vacating the premises June 14th at the demand of the building s owners, the Panzer family .
In his celebration of America s favorite dish, filmmaker George Motz traversed the fruited plain in search of some of the country s most unique burgers for his 54-minute film Hamburger America . An avowed burger lover, he wasn t necessarily trying to find and rank America s best burgers per se. Instead, he feted eight restaurants napa valley limousine wine tour in continuous operation for 40-plus years whose menus featured burgers made from fresh meat, not frozen, for those 40 years. One of the eight restaurants featured was Santa Fe s own Bobcat napa valley limousine wine tour Bite.
In his GQ magazine article The 20 Hamburgers You Must Eat Before You Die, Alan Richman was more definitive in rating America s best burgers. Taking the measure of 162 burgers across the country, Richman s goal was to find the best damned assemblage of ground beef and buns this country serves up. He rated the Bobcat Bite the 12th best burger in America (but not the best burger napa valley limousine wine tour in New Mexico; that honor went to the Buckhorn Tavern napa valley limousine wine tour in San Antonio).
In 2007, the Food Network aired a program called Top American Restaurants Bon Appetit Picks the Best in which the editors of Bon Apetit magazine selected the top places in this country to enjoy the ultimate incarnations of iconic American cuisine . Among the iconic napa valley limousine wine tour American cuisine feted were hamburgers. This category was won by Santa Fe s Bobcat Bite to the surprise of absolutely no one who has ever dined at this Santa Fe area treasure.
That s high praise indeed, but accolades are nothing new for this Lilliputian restaurant (seating for only 26 patrons) which was also featured in March, 2000 edition of New Mexico magazine and, as previously mentioned, is held in high esteem by Michael and Jane Stern of Gourmet magazine and  Roadfood.com .  In their terrific 2009 tome 500 Things To Eat Before It s Too Late , the Sterns rated the Bobcat Bite number one on their list of must-eat green chile cheeseburgers.  They wrote, The meat in this extraordinary GCCB is extraordinarily tasty high-quality beef, a full inch thick complemented but not overwhelmed by chile that is more tangy than hot .
When it comes to burgers, it s all about the beef and that s where Bobcat Bite has the edge over the competition. The owners still grind their beef daily on the premises, using only hormone-free chuck shoulder and chuck tenders then forming the patties by hand, careful to control fat content. napa valley limousine wine tour  The 50-year old cast iron grill is wonderfully seasoned napa valley limousine wine tour so that each burger is prepared with remarkable consistency.
Each burger is a thick and juicy 9.5 ounce slab of beautiful beef served with an American and Swiss cheese blend, green chile, lettuce and tomato. Mustard and ketchup are available on your table and you can ask for mayonnaise and sliced (or even better, grilled) onion if you d like.  If you do opt to use a condiment on your burger, use it sparingly because it s the beef that may bring tears of joy to your eyes.  The only steak in New Mexico even comparable to the utterly erotic deliciousness of the coarse ground beef patty at the Bobcat Bite is the peppery elk tenderloin at Geronimo .
It takes two hands to handle the gigantic green chile cheeseburger, but you could use a third hand to wipe your mouth.  I can palm a basketball easily, but as the photo above attests, my right meathook is challenged to hold the green chile cheeseburger at the Bobcat Bite.  At medium, this burger is pink through and through; napa valley limousine wine tour it s as juicy a burger as you ll find anywhere (easily a five napkin burger) with beef being the prevalent flavor.  It s an absolutely delicious beef which you can eat by itself; even mustard and ketchup might be considered desecration.
The restaurant goes through 80 pounds of green chile per week and it s not the canned green chile variety other dining establishments serve.  That being said, the green chile doesn t have much of, if any, bite.  It could be because it s buried under a blanket of cheese which tops the inch-thick hamburger patty.  The lack of piquancy is the sole factor preventing an even higher rating for these treasures.
When I introduced my friend roastmaster nonpareil Bill Resnik to the Bobcat Bite, what he couldn t get over is just how wonderful the restaurant smells. He told owner Bonnie Eckre (pictured) that she could make a million dollars if she could bottle the aroma of her sizzling burgers then suggested that aroma would make a great aftershave. It would leave men perpetually hungry.
While the Bobcat s bounteous burgers are best known, the restaurant also serves napa valley limousine wine tour excellent steak. About the prime ribeye steak, Michael Stern says, there is none more delicious between Amarillo and L.A . Even better than the ribeye is the 10-ounce New York strip steak which is perfectly seasoned napa valley limousine wine tour with salt, pepper and garlic and prepared exactly to your specifications.
There isn t much on the menu (a tossed salad and coleslaw) for vegetarians, but the coleslaw is as good as it comes. Instead of the overly sweet salad dressing or mayo you ll find on most coleslaw, the Bobcat Bite uses a tart, vinegary dressing. It s not acidic enough to pucker your lips, but it is tangy and delicious with flecks of green pepper napa valley limousine wine tour and very finely chopped slaw.
During winter months, the Bobcat rotates between a New Mexico style green and a Texas style red a bowl of chile (spelled New Mexico style). The Texas style red chile includes beans, ground beef and tomato and is almost soup-like. In fact, to thicken the sauce, you can add crackers and have a very good Texas chile soup (although Texans can t spell and would call it chili. napa valley limousine wine tour )
The Bobcat Bite sits on a 100 acre ranch which used to be a working quarter horse ranch. napa valley limousine wine tour Bobcats used to sit and perch on the restaurant s roof and would come down from the mountains to get fed scraps tossed out the back door. No doubt that even the scraps at this wonderful little restaurant taste pretty good.

Your new website is not user friendly and not an improvement. Gone is the page where I can view by cuisine and page through lists of names to get to the restaurant napa valley limousine wine tour I want. Bring back the old web site please!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just the best meat in all New Mexico, but limited menu. There is nothing bad here and the absolute best burgers in this known universe. Can t rave enough about the cole slaw either. Complaints small, crowded and very long waits outside but NEVER IN 26 YEARS A COMPLAINT ABOUT THE FOOD!!! The food is the BEST here.
I FINALLY made it up to Bobcat Bite and it was so worth the drive and the wait. The burgers were great, of course, and the pasta salad is truly something special. Spent some time with Bonnie talking about you Gil. Apparently we are both fascinated by what you look like, and since we ve never seen you, we decided that you must look like a science professor (think Santa with a shorter beard). We re probably way off, but that s what we decided.
Have you asked Bonnie about the mild chile and maybe adding a 2nd, hotter choice. Also have you tried a burger without the chile awe-some!! As are the other meat dishes. Sometime though, you wish you had a big ole six-shooter napa valley limousine wine tour for some of the tourists that want catsup for their burgers make you realize there may actually be things in this world worst than death.
You know how I feel about Bobcat Bite! It s my first and last stop when I visit Santa Fe. I d heard so much hype about their Green Chile Cheeseburger that I figured I d be disappointed. Not! I always order it med rare with grilled onions and those fabulous home fries. It s such a fun treat just to walk in the door, be greeted like family (as you know, I live in LA and get to Santa Fe once a year, at most!) and have one of the very best burgers on the planet. We have good burgers here in LA, but none like this yumster!
napa valley limousine wine tour I got a chance to eat there today with some friends. Awesome stuff. The adults all loved it, but the youngster (10 years old) kind of picked napa valley limousine wine tour at it. The youngster says he prefers wimpyburgers. Those are served at a burger joint near The Barelas Coffeehouse.
But you re right about the green chile, Gil. I had to check to see if they had included it in my cheeseburger. The beef is incredible. I can see why they receive such a high rating. Next time I m going to try it with grilled onions. BTW, my friend got there at 11:05 and he was too late for the first round of seating. The place is incredibly small. Any reason why they haven t expanded the size of the restaurant?
By the way, if you re planning a visit, don t use the Mapquest directions. They are way off. Instead of referen

WHAT: A hardcover book with matching slip cover by Krista Hammond of Santa Cruz Sea Glass and in con

However, since word got out that unique and jaw-dropping beautiful sea glass had been washing up at Davenport Beach for years, a curious Hammond decided to look into the cause and then share the story with others.
Santa Cruz Sea Glass: The Story Behind travel asia the Treasure is a hardcover book written by Hammond travel asia in conjunction with Davenport-based Lundberg Studios that tells the story behind the collectible sea glass found at Davenport Beach.
The owners of Santa Cruz Sea Glass a jewelry collection predominantly featuring sea glass from Davenport Beach Hammond and her husband Tony Berkowitz both had a history of collecting sea glass prior to their first meeting, but she said when they began dating, a good-natured competition emerged.
I never got super-obsessed with it until I met my husband. We re both pretty competitive and we had a friendly competition going on who would find the prettiest pieces. It is really, really difficult to find pieces at Davenport Beach, but we ve been blessed.
They married in 2007, the same year they started their business. They live in unincorporated Santa Cruz County, and Hammond estimated that she s been hunting for sea glass on Davenport Beach for roughly 10 years.
This is a small town you don t disclose your spots, Hammond said. If you have a little treasure beach, you don t draw attention to it. But word got out a few years ago when Davenport Beach sea glass was featured on the Travel Channel show Cash and Treasures. About 18 months ago, I approached Rebecca Lundberg about writing a book.
Lundberg, the owner of Lundberg Studios whose late husband James Lundberg started the business in 1970, told Hammond that after a heavy 1970s rainstorm caused the San Vicente Creek to overflow, the subsequent flooding swept containers of Lundberg Studio s discarded blown-glass trimmings from where they were stored behind the shop into the ocean.
The incident was investigated by local authorities, and Lundberg Studios has since adopted a policy of recycling all their glass trimmings, Hammond wrote. the San Vicente travel asia Creek is now a protected stream for native steelhead and salmon habitat conservation. This chance travel asia occurrence brought on by Mother Nature and finished by the ocean some 40 years ago is what makes pieces found at Davenport some of the most prized sea glass in the world.
The book is chock-full of photographs of pieces from Hammond and Berkowitz s private collection as well as photos of the finished product, courtesy of Lundberg Studios known worldwide for its art glass, particularly its paperweights.
James Lundberg was making high-grade art pieces, so he did not skimp on quality ingredients for glass, said Hammond of what makes Davenport Beach sea glass unique. His glass has an inner glow and durability that is higher quality than bottle travel asia glass.
I wanted to write the book to satisfy travel asia my own curiosity, she added. I wanted to know about the origin of my pieces. I wanted to hold in one hand a finished piece of art and the sea glass in another and see how the two are related.
Hammond credited Rebecca Lundberg for playing travel asia a big part in the creation of the book, including proofreading it and lending particular pieces to be photographed for the book from her own private collection.
It s a gorgeous book, and I m honored that Krista wanted travel asia to include photos of our finished products in it, Lundberg said. That s just an example of her generosity. She s such a caring and generous person she s one of my greatest new friends.

Sure, travel rewards us with all kinds of wonderful dividends  --  adventures, experiences, quality time and other worthy wallet-thinners -- but what if your next trip actually offered the possibility of paying a real return?
Gold from a California river. An opal from the Australian outback. A 300-year-old Spanish coin plucked from the sea. A rock from outer space. We're talking treasure. Not those plastic chips in Vegas or Monaco. The real kind. It's out there, if you know where to look.
And at more than US$50 a gram, it's been prompting a mini renaissance of re-opened mines and 21st-century prospecting in Central California's picturesque Sierra foothills  --  home of the state's original "Mother Lode" Gold Rush sites.
The epicenter: Highway 49, where historic communities southwestairlines like Sutter Creek and Jamestown flaunt their storied past with street names like Eureka and Gold Dust Trail  --  along with the requisite bed-and-breakfasts, antique shops, wine tastings and chili cook-offs.
"They've touched less than 15 percent of the known deposits here in Wood's Creek according to the U.S. Geological southwestairlines Survey," says Brent Shock, owner of Jamestown-based Gold Prospecting Adventures , which leads a variety of instructional, family-friendly prospecting trips at the historic site, including a popular three-hour panning and sluice trip.
"Some of our guests have gotten lucky," says Shock, without getting into specifics, before adding that the real gold is the experience itself. "Being out there on the creek, southwestairlines getting your feet wet and learning the trade. It's fun  --  and in a single afternoon we'll get you up to speed on how to do it yourself."
On September 6, 1622, the Spanish galleon Nuestra Señora de Atocha  --  the rear ship in a "treasure fleet" heading back to Spain from the New World  --  was caught in a vicious hurricane, sinking in the coral shallows near the Florida Keys.
Cut to July 20, 1985: U.S. treasure hunter Mel Fisher's dogged southwestairlines 16-year quest for the Atocha finally paid off. A trove of buried southwestairlines loot valued at around US$500 million was recovered 56 kilometers off the coast of Key West.
Cut to today:  Mel Fisher's Treasure  continues to search for the Atocha's still-buried sterncastle cargo where, according to the original captain's manifest, 17 tons of silver bars, 128,000 coins, 27 kilos of emeralds and about 35 boxes of church gold await discovery in the shallow sandy waters off of Key West.
The company runs week-long "Atocha Dive Adventure" packages between June and August open to small groups of certified scuba divers eager to participate in real  --  and frequently successful southwestairlines  --  open water treasure hunting for missing Atocha loot and artifacts spread over an estimated 16-kilometer treasure trail.
"Guests have found coins, old weapons, silverware, pottery, you name it," says Investor Relations manager, Shawn Cowles. "There's an estimated southwestairlines US$200 million of Atocha treasure still down there." Atocha Dive Adventures cost US$2,500, including a week's lodging, some meals, treasure hunting training and several guided dives for Atocha goods.
"But Tom, that's not how the Goonies did it ..." Australia's "Opal Rush" hit its stride nearly a century ago when, as the story goes, a 15-year-old named Willie Hutchinson serendipitously stumbled upon one of the fiery gems during a wayward gold expedition in a grim desert-scape that otherwise wouldn't have laid claim to much more than being the perfect setting for all those "Mad Max" movies.
More than 70 percent of the world's precious opals are mined in and around this strange, sepia-toned town where most locals live in underground "dugout" dwellings to survive the area's harsh climate. And it's estimated that only about 10 percent of the total area has been worked.
One of the most unlikely tourist hits on the Aussie circuit, guests here can check into underground hotels, hook up with a Coober Pedy opal mine guide (there are several) and "noodle" (local opal-hunting parlance) for their own precious finds in mounds of extracted rock and dirt that have been known to conceal lots of stray opals.
Greek opal expert Yanni Athanasiadis displays a harlequin crystal opal (left) and a boulder opal (right) in the opal mining town of Coober Pedy. "We had a family from New York about 10 months ago working through the mullock heaps on our claim for a couple southwestairlines of days," says Rosemarie Hoelzer, an operator at Tom's Working Opal Mine in Coober Pedy. "They found about a dozen stones which they then had cut, polished and classed southwestairlines in town. The total carat prize written on the bags was around AU$1,500."
Rock hounds have been plucking rubies, emeralds, moonstones and dozens of other precious minerals out of central North Carolina's mountainous gem belt for generations  --  and judging from the number of busy tourist mines spread throughout the state's picturesque High Country, the potentially lucrative hobby shows no sign of slowing down.
Popular southwestairlines gem-hunting spots include The Foggy Mountain Gem Mine  near Boone, where pre-filled buckets of rock mixture are guaranteed to contain several rough gemstones. southwestairlines Emerald Hollow Mine  in the town of Hiddenite claims southwestairlines to be the only public-prospecting emerald mine in the country -- home to more than 60 other types of gemstones including the rare, indigenous hiddenite.
southwestairlines Almost two kilometers off the spectacular Blue Ridge Parkway, the small Appalachian southwestairlines town of Spruce Pine has attracted loads of gem hunters and TV crews to its signature stone-hunting haunt, Gem Mountain, which offers guided tours to 10 different mining hot spots throughout the county.
"What you find you get to keep -- and on a good day I've seen some stones southwestairlines come through here worth about US$3,000 to US$4,000," says facility owner Charles Buchanan. "We cut stones and make jewelry on site, and keep five cutters pretty busy from what folks are finding. So it's pretty evident they're finding quite a lot."
"There's certainly a range," says science writer and professional meteorite hunter, Geoffrey Notkin, who co-hosts Science Channel's Meteorite Men and knows what it's like to find a space rock worth about US$100,000. "These days it's almost the case where the sky's the limit."
"Basically dry places with a lot of open space are where you want to be looking," advises Notkin, who's led searches on and off camera on four continents and isn't likely to be divulging any GPS coordinates.
"The truth is, they're everywhere," he says. "I can promise you that there are just as many meteorites in New York as there are at an optimum site in the Australian desert or dry lake bed in Nevada. They're just a heck of a lot harder to find in New York."
Asteroid fragments, comet remnants, stray planetary bits hurtling through earth's atmosphere have never been too choosy about where they land -- sometimes in the ocean or jungle, or sometimes through the roof of an igloo or a Virginia dentist's southwestairlines office on a suddenly extraordinary Monday afternoon.
One of the best is hooking up with a professional meteorite-hunting expedition. Meteorite Adventures , led by Notkin and Meteorite Men co-host Steve Arnold, runs small-group expeditions to several secret meteorite-rich locations we wish we could tell you more about  --  but their lips are sealed for all but the luckiest of applicants as space on these space rock journeys is limited.

Sometimes I forget why I am in this business. I never get the butterflies midtown atlanta restaurant menus anymore midtown atlanta restaurant menus when I am on a shoot and I never feel like a rockstar when I am wearing a headset and watching a monitor while on set. I just do it and think about the next shot the next line what I am going to eat for dinner. Then, something happens that makes the hair on my neck (I have a few short strands there FYI ) stand on end and shows me how lucky I am to do what I do for a living. This past week I was fortunate enough to be invited to take a class called midtown atlanta restaurant menus the Travel Channel Academy up in NY. Yes, I have some travel tales to tell my Delta shuttle flight was cancelled on the way up and I chose to rent an apartment instead of stay at a hotel. I ll get to all of that. The big story here was the Academy and if you are reading this blog I URGE you to go sign up and take the class. It was that good. Of course you all know that I work for Travel Channel and you probably think I am just saying this because I work for them and I get some kind of kickback. Well, for the record I don t. I suck at sales and I am just telling you so that you have the opportunity to check it out. If you decide that it is not for you well, that s better for me because then I can submit my films and I will get paid and you will just go back to whatever it is that you do. OK that s the end of the rant. The class is run by Rosenblum Associates; a NY based production company who produced a ton of programs for Discovery and other nets. The guy who teaches the seminar is Rosenblum himself Michael midtown atlanta restaurant menus Rosenblum and he might just be the most fascinating character I have ever met. He s a short Jewish man maybe from Queens who dresses in all black head to toe. Even his Prada glasses are black rimmed. He talks with a thick NY accent that reminds of a guy that I dated from Brooklyn. (Note to self husband is a subscriber move on) Michael starts the class with a basic shooting lesson that shows any idiot how to shoot. Close up on the hands close up on the face wide shot over the shoulder and then from the side. Sounded like a simple assignment so, I was psyched to get out into the city and shoot my first film with my little HD handycam. I went to Zabars on the upper west side and went to work. I scouted the place for like 20 minutes. I then chatted with the managers, talked to some butchers, a few fish mongers the girl who packed the cheese. This was going to be a great piece. So, I took a break for lunch and created my shot list. Two hours later close up on the hands, close up on the face I was done and I was excited to bring my footage back to show Michael and the rest of the class what an Executive Producer can shoot all by herself. I went back to the class and we all started screening the student s footage. Most of the footage was great some a little shaky but all in all not bad for first timers. Then, it came time to screen my footage and I was so proud to show Michael my stunning footage. Twenty seconds into the screening Michael stopped the tape and channeled his inner Simon Cowell and said. (I will never forget the words) You do this for a living, right? I nodded. He continued, Well, its not bad but its not good. Its a little raggedy. Its too shaky and it just looks amateur. I started to feel a lump in my throat and knew that I was the face of the very network that was running this class my inner voice began to chant DO NOT CRY DO NOT CRY. After the screening some of us decided to go back out for a reshoot. So, I grabbed my camera and took the 1 train back up to the upper west side. I went right back to Zabars and just started shooting. Close up on the hands close up on the face. No, No its not good enough. I know, I will just shoot something else. So, I went across the street to a diner. I told them that I was from the Travel Channel and they all looked at me like I was NUTS. So, I went to a dance studio who had an 8pm salsa class. That would be great. I spoke to the owner and she asked that I come back at another time when she could have her hair colored. No go. No close up on the hands No close up on the face. So, I put my Executive Producer business card away and took my sorry ass to Fairway and picked up some salad for dinner. (And ice cream again, the hubby is reading this and knows me too well.) The next morning, I went back to class determined midtown atlanta restaurant menus to make Michael see my shining talent. I started editing my piece and all in all it was not too bad. It was not my best work but, I managed to make a weak chicken salad out of chicken shit. That night I met my friend Kelly out at Lupa downtown for dinner. Lupa is a Batali restaurant and it was jam packed! The food was nice a bit too earnest of a menu. They had beets as an appetizer and there was far too many bizarre choices midtown atlanta restaurant menus for an Italian restaurant. I ended up asking our waitress for a recommendation midtown atlanta restaurant menus and she told us to order the octopus, the sweet breads and she absolutely loved the tripe. Eww.. no bitch I ll stick with the fresh pasta with the pulled pork ragu and skip the nastys. All in all.. it was all very good and worth a try if you want something less pretentious midtown atlanta restaurant menus then Babbo. The next day I was back at the class and Michael had another lecture for us. Now we were going to shoot characters. We had to have real people as the focus of our short films that will be submitted to the network as our graduation videos. Not too hard more close up on the hands, close up on the face but, now we had to put action into the shots. When you take the class you will get the lecture. I cannot get into detail in the blog. At around noon, we all took to the rainy streets of Manhattan to start shooting our second piece. My first idea was to shoot with a NY cabbie. I would sit with one cabbie for a couple of hours and just get the story. Then, I had this image of the couple at the very beginning of that movie the bone collector. They grabbed a cab on their way home from the airport one night back to NY and I think they were both chopped into little tiny pieces. So, I abandoned the cab idea and called my cousin who lives in Hoboken. midtown atlanta restaurant menus She was going to get her hair done today perfect I ll do my piece of her getting her hair done. She is a 26 year old casting director for MTV she would be a great character. I took bus 126 out of Port Authority and in 10 minutes was out in Hoboken, New Jersey. Eww. But, it was fine. I met her at the salon and we started shooting. midtown atlanta restaurant menus Close up on the hands close up on the face. Ok now I am cooking. No shaky cam read through all of my class notes. I was going to get this right. After about 3 hours of documenting her color and cut; I jumped back on the bus to start digitizing the footage. I worked for about 2 hours and then decided that I needed some rest. I needed to walk away and come back in the morning to finish it. The next morning, I went back to class and started editing. We only had until 3pm and then we were going to screen the final videos. I worked right up to the deadline and just took to my seat to wait to be creamed by Michael. He went through the videos one by one and I was beginning to squirm. I was not thrilled with my finished product I should have stuck with the cabbie. Why did I not trust my first instinct? Oh, well Finally it was my film to be screened and it was fine. Most of the class laughed on cue and overall it was fine. Was it art? Not by a long shot I was upset that I was not the teachers pet. Oh well not this time, Lori. After the class ended, I jumped into the black sudan that was ordered by my company to take me to the airport. I looked like an EP.. but I felt like a film student. I could not wait to purchase my own mini-DV cam and MAC to practice my new craft. The butterflies came back and I felt an inspiration that I had not felt in a long time. That all said, I am now dedicating myself to working on these videos. I will post them when they are ready so that you can see for yourself close up on the hands, close up on the face. More tomorrow. Lori
The pattern is never ending with these students. They are fresh from class happy with what they think they have learned. Then silence as reality sets in. We saw this some time ago with some of the fresh faced WKRN and KRON VJs who rushed to blog and brag about their sure success in the future. Only to join the growing list of silent, abandoned VJ blogs as their careers ended, or never began in the first place.
These students of course are not employed by a broadcaster. They are just starting out, but the first they learned is that making TV is not the dark and mysterious art that those in the industry would have had them believe.

Saw the show by chance and instantly loved it. It even made me want to go buy a beginner Metal Detec

Tonight at 10|9c, denver airport onsite car rental catch back-to-back premieres of Travel Channel's all-new series Dig Wars , where 3 teams of America s best relic hunters compete head-to-head to find the most valuable artifacts at different historic locations across the country. Once on site, the teams have from sun-up to sundown to apply all of their knowledge, resources and hustle to ensure a victory.
First, the relic hunters head to Louisiana to explore Fort Saint Phillip an abandoned military outpost that has been closed to visitors since Hurricane Katrina. denver airport onsite car rental Will they find artifacts uncovered by the disastrous storm?
I enjoyed the new show Dig Wars on the Travel Channel. It is refreshing to see the hobby of relic hunting/metal detecting portrayed in a more favorable manner on television than what we have previously been subjected to. I appreciated how some of the better relic finds were highlighted with accompanying historical context and the realistic appraisels that were applied after the hunt. Most of all, it was pleasureable and entertaining to see everyone having fun doing what they enjoy doing. The passion for their hobby of relic hunting was obvious. Oh, and about Larry accidentally putting a hole through Mike s button. That happens more than most people think. I have done it myself and seen it done. That s why I m always a bit apprehensive when it comes to coonfingering other peoples relics. denver airport onsite car rental What I appreciated about that part of the show is how realistic that moment denver airport onsite car rental was. Not sure whose idea the penny pitch was or if it was fabricated just for the show but things like that do happen but more by landowners denver airport onsite car rental that don t care for relic hunters or have had problems with relic hunters tresspassing on their property. I have also heard of pennies being taped to the bottom of coils. It doesn t always turn out to be the joke you thought it was going to be.
With the growing popularity denver airport onsite car rental of metal detecting, and the possibility of discovering treasures, one automatically thinks of exploring historical sites. Think again! Federal law prohibits the possession and use of metal detectors on federal denver airport onsite car rental property.
In addition to metal detecting, federal law also prohibits relic hunting, digging for artifacts, and removing artifacts or historical objects. These acts are illegal and can lead to confiscation of equipment, arrest, and prosecution as a felony under federal law. Penalties may include fines of up to $10,000 and possible prison time.
I cant wait till shows like this are shut down. It will happen, most are in violation of state and federal law. The show on spike t.v. has been sued by the state of Montana. Stop looting archaeological sites!
Ya know .the peoples passion for the hunt is great I too love to detect and if its only a pennie denver airport onsite car rental dug up after years of being burried denver airport onsite car rental .I know that excitement ..I just hope a lot of this series hasnt been to areas salted with relics. Scripted reality shows are hard to ingest and digest just knowing that they are scripted.
This makes me very sad. As an archaeologist, this show is glorifying site looting. It is our job to protect our history and heritage and seeing our historical sites being disturbed and looted makes me sick. If everyone where to visit these sites and take an artifact, we are not only destroying any potential scientific research but there will eventually be nothing left. Please stop calling it relic hunting and realize for what this really is looting of our history.
denver airport onsite car rental Looting?, not really. Did you not pay attention at the beginng?. Permission was given by the land owners, all finds were going to a museum after the filming. I m sure Ron and Larry followed the letter of the law on all the digs. Not all detectorist are relic hunters. I am a water hunter, mainly for lost modern coins and jewelery. denver airport onsite car rental I have returned over 300 items to people, such as family heirlums and wedding bands. What about the clubs that help law enforcement with searchs for evidence?. What about the club that worked with state archie s at the Custer denver airport onsite car rental battle field. They didn;t dig anything, just marked metal targets in the ground. It re-wrote the history of the battle.. Look into Englands detecting laws, that s what we need here. How about the archie who took bones home to examin, only to find out he had disturbed a murder scene Or the one caught selling relics on Ebay? Were not all looters Archie, just as your not all saviors of history. Ozzie Osborne, detectorist.
My name is Mark Cogenvich. I am the President of the Plaquemines Parish denver airport onsite car rental Historical Assoc. I would like to talk to someone about the show at Fort St. Phillips. You can contact me on my email. It is very important that we talk. Thanks Mark
Saw the show by chance and instantly loved it. It even made me want to go buy a beginner Metal Detector because it looked like a lot of fun and an awesome hobby. This has to be by far the favorite wars series out there. Keep them Coming!
You say this is showing good light as appose to american digger I can see that but it taints use to the land owner. It will get to the point where you ask someone to be on their property they will be looking to get paid.
Nice to see yet another National Historic Landmark looted for personal gain on a cable network that should know better. What a national embarrassment, I didn t think you could gutterball Spike TV but there s always room at the bottom. Stay classy, Travel Channel.
I believe a more accurate term for relic hunter is looter. Here we go again. Another show glorifying the wholesale destruction of archaeological sites and the information they contain about our past. How about an episode devoted to the laws that govern how and when archaeological artifacts can be taken from sites?
I watched your Dig Wars and thought it would be about finding lost articles but to my dismay out of the half hour only a small part was actually digging and finding articles. Most of the show was scripted over acting and an exact cpy of many other shows where you pause and like I said have the actors make an unrealisic scene to try and hype up the show. You should take the metal detector cammercial where they are serious about finding treasure and act like it as a model. I have been metal detecting for years and have gone to digs where there are a hundred people and not ONE acts like a little girl when he finds something.
It s too bad that most people have no idea that there is a discipline called historical archaeology, which examines historic sites
